The Importance of Perspective in Art
Getting at least the basics in perspective down is key in making your drawings look more realistic. We’ve all looked at a drawing and felt that something was off. In most cases, it was the perspective. It might seem complicated at first but it’s really not that hard. Getting the hang of this however, is important enough that it deserves a repost for those who didn’t catch the first posting. And for those of you who did see it, visiting this again and brushing up wouldn’t hurt.

It’s More Than Just Your Point of View
The importance of perspective in art was realized long ago by Florentine architect Filipo Brunelleschi. He developed linear perspective which projected the illusion of depth by using vanishing points to which all lines converged on the horizon. It didn’t take long for many Italian artists to begin using the same linear perspective in their paintings. Masaccio being the first great painter of the early Renaissance to demonstrate full mastery of perspective.
